Addoptics B.V. is a high-tech scale-up that uses a combination of innovative 3D printing technology techniques and replication processes to reduce the delivery time for the production of custom lens prototypes from six weeks to six days. Addoptics distinguishes itself by fast lead times, being able to work with complex designs and seamless scalability to series production; all because of our additive manufacturing and replication process. We supply custom optics to companies within industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, medical and lighting.

Position:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a high-tech optics start-up that is scaling up rapidly. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other members of the leadership team to develop and implement strategies that support the company’s growth. The COO will also be responsible for managing the company’s budgets and resources, and for ensuring that the organization is operating efficiently and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including production, logistics, and distribution
  • Manage the company’s budgets and resources, and ensure that the organization is operating efficiently and effectively
  • Identify and implement new technologies and processes that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
  • Work closely with the CEO and other members of the leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and to develop and execute plans to capitalize on those opportunities
  • Build and manage a high-performing operations team
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and (production?) partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a COO or in a similar leadership role, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement plans that support the company’s growth
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience managing budgets and resources, and a track record of driving operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • People management skills: experience in building high performing teams
  • Knowledge of optics and manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • High level of ambition and energy needed to succeed in a scale-up environment
